How to Spoil Mom for Mother’s Day

No one has cleaned up more messes, dried more tears or lost more hours of sleep than moms. The least we can do is show our mothers how much we appreciate them this Sunday, May 12!

Here are five reasons why the Historic Triangle is the perfect place to spoil Mom:

Spas

There’s probably nothing Mom would love more than an hour or two to herself at one of Williamsburg’s finest spas! We’d recommend the Williamsburg Salt Spa if mom has allergies or asthma, Serenity Spa for a rejuvenating facial (take advantage of the “Mother/Daughter Facial” special and buy one, get one 50% off!), or Beauty Therapy by Iza for the best massage in the ‘Burg.

Dining

Think of all the breakfasts, lunches and dinners moms made for their kids over the years! Treat Mother’s Day like it’s her day off and head to Opus 9, Le Yaca or Blue Talon Bistro for an outstanding meal where she’s the center of attention. Plan ahead and let her know you’re treating her to a delicious Sunday brunch, or better yet, a fancy dinner.

Shopping

Staying at King’s Creek Plantation? Stop by the Williamsburg Farmers Market to grab a bottle of wine and fresh, local ingredients to cook her a delicious meal (you’ll look like a real chef in the kitchen at King’s Creek’s Cottages, Townes or Estates)! If she loves good deals on great brands, take her to the Williamsburg Premium Outlets, or try the quaint specialty shops and art galleries at Merchants Square.

History

Mothers make great teachers, so take her exploring at Colonial Williamsburg or Jamestown with you! The largest living history museum is full of museums, tours, battlefields, monuments and reenactments that depict life in 18th-century America. We’ve written all about it here!

Activities

If Mom has a brave streak (and let’s be honest, moms have to!), test out the fastest roller coasters together at Busch Gardens or the thrilling water slides at Water Country, USA. If she prefers something a little quieter, try a scenic bike ride or a leisurely stroll on one of Williamsburg’s beautiful walking and biking trails. Speaking of trails, just pack a cooler of cheese and crackers and take Mom on the adventure she really wants: the Virginia Wine Trail, which includes the Williamsburg Winery, the largest vineyard in the state of Virginia.

Williamsburg, Virginia, can enhance any holiday or family celebration with its beautiful attractions and rich history. At King’s Creek Plantation, we hope that moms everywhere get a Mother’s Day that includes what really matters—the people they love the most!
