2020 Williamsburg Bucketlist

The New Year has finally arrived! The start of 2020 signifies a fresh start and a new beginning. We’re sure you put some thought into how you can make this year better than the last, whether it’s through starting a new positive habit or cutting out a bad one. While New Year’s Resolutions are a wonderful thing, we have some ideas of our own, for how you can make this year GREAT with our 2020 Williamsburg Bucketlist! 

Make a promise to yourself to learn something new, try something that scares you, and gain more experiences than ever before! When you visit Williamsburg, there are so many ways to enrich your life and leave feeling more fulfilled! Stay with King’s Creek and see if you have what it takes to complete our new year checklist…

1.Visit America’s Historic Triangle
Good times are ahead when you plan a visit to the place of living history! Williamsburg, Virginia is home to America’s Historic Triangle, which is made up of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. 

Visit some of America’s premier historic museums, which include Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown! There are also two National Park sites, Historic Jamestowne and Yorktown Battlefield. 

In Colonial Williamsburg… lives an 18th century city, and is the world’s largest living history museum, boasting over forty sites and trades, four historic taverns and two world-class art museums. 

In Jamestown Settlement… learn the story of America’s first permanent English colony. Experience 17th-century Virginia, from the arrival of English colonists in Jamestown in 1607 to the cultural encounters and events that planted the seeds of a new nation.

In Yorktown… take in the revolution through dynamic galleries, exhibits, films and immersive environments. The American Revolution Museum tells the story of the nation’s founding, from the beginning of colonial times through the establishment of the Constitution. 

Each location is rich in culture and history. Bring the whole family out for some engaging, interactive and educational FUN! 

2.Chase Adventures at Busch Gardens
Our 2020 Williamsburg Bucketlist wouldn’t be complete without an exhilarating adventure. Thrills and chills await when you make a trip to Busch Gardens! Between the exciting rides and coasters, family-friendly shows, world-class dining and seasonal events, there are amazing experiences for all ages, all year long. 

PLUS, coming in 2020… face the strength and power of Roman gods with Busch Gardens’ newest ride. The Pantheon will be the world’s fastest multi-launch coaster, designed for a one-of-a-kind adventure! 

As a bonus bucket list item, stop by Water Country USA from May through September. Come experience Virginia’s largest water park to try epic water rides or just kick back and relax.  

3.Brave one of Williamsburg’s Ghost Tours
Visiting a place where history is alive, you can expect to encounter a few phantom spirits. Explore the haunted happenings in Williamsburg with one of their famous ghost tours! Creep through the streets of Williamsburg, and learn the scary tales and local legends that have been made famous over the years. If you have a spooky side, you don’t want to miss out on this paranormal activity. 

4.Graze through Williamsburg with a Walking Food Tour
The food scene is on the rise in the Greater Williamsburg! This year, we think this is where you should start, if you’re looking for some good cooking. 

Williamsburg offers a 3-hour afternoon walking food tour, where you will get a behind-the-scenes look at three to four restaurants and three to four eateries. Experience local peanut shops, candy stores, spice and tea shops, where you can test chocolates, wood fired pizza, gourmet mac and cheese, fudge, award winning wings, and so much more. 

5.Sample Craft Alcohol and Fine Wine in a Tasting Tour
The last stop on our 2020 Williamsburg Bucketlist is to visit our favorite breweries/wineries!

Whether you’re looking to liven your spirit, or relax and unwind, Williamsburg Tasting Tours are a great item to add to your 2020 to-dos. This an awesome itinerary activity for your well-prepared Williamsburg vacation, or it can simply be a last-minute impulse for your weekend get-away! Drink Williamsburg… climb aboard the beverage bus for a 3.5 hour tour of Williamsburg’s best breweries, wineries, distilleries, and more! Experience the local beverage scene with a small-group, guided tour.

Colonial Wine Trail… relish in the beautiful setting in the heart of Colonial America, where history and wine come together! This year, visit the Colonial Wine Trail for five unique wineries and one amazing experience!
