One of our favorite Williamsburg features is amazing theme parks! If you’ve been looking for a new adventure for the whole family, we think Busch Gardens should be your next destination!
Located in James City County, Virginia (just 3.5 miles from King’s Creek Plantation), Busch Gardens is one of the world’s most beautiful theme parks. Though the park boasts amazing seasonal events and year-round, springtime is one of our favorite seasons to enjoy this spectacular Virginia theme park!

The spring season brings even more exhilarating experiences with some extreme rollercoasters! Join the other brave riders and face high speeds, crazy heights, scary drops and shocking twists and turns.
This year, Busch Gardens is even more exciting with a new ride, Finnegan’s Flyer, launching! This is an extreme swing ride, with the thrill-o-meter level rated very high! Finnegan’s Flyer reaches a staggering height of over 80 feet and an intense swing speed of 45 mph. Take in beautiful views of the park while being surrounded by 31 other captivated riders!
For the remainder of April, weekends at Busch Gardens are all about the kids! Everyone’s favorite Sesame Street friends, including Elmo, Cookie Monster, Super Grover and Rosita are hosting a party for your little ones!
Each weekend is packed with exclusive activities like games, dance parties, scavenger hunts, story time and so much more. Bring the family out on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and join in the family-friendly fun!
If you’ve spent time exploring the park’s rides, now it’s time to explore its amazing aromas and tastes! The Food & Wine Festival is a culinary adventure included with guest admission! Survey an abundance of flavors from around the world, with 43 specialty entrees and desserts, 35 wines, 33 craft beers, 30 unique cocktails and 11 specialty beverages. All of these are available for purchase at kiosks spread throughout the park. Find your new favorite dish, sample different beverages and pairings, or drift along the Rhine River with beverages, cheese and fruit on a wine river cruise!
The food and wine festival begins May 17 and takes place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays!
Opening day for the 2019 season at Water Country USA is May 18! Virginia’s largest water park lets you chase excitement on wild slides, kick back and relax on the lazy river, and make a splash on whichever ride you choose. Take a look at the different membership options so you can visit through the spring and again all summer long!

Let’s Play Together – Enjoy this Sesame Street show until the end of April! Let’s Play Together is a high-energy musical for kids. Your favorite Sesame Street friends will teach important lessons about the beauty of friendship. This show is interactive and FUN for the whole family.
Celtic Fyre– Witness one of the favorites, an Irish step dancing show. The Celtic Fyre celebrate Irish culture with the universal language of dance. Listen to wonderful music and take in the energy of the performers in one of Busch Gardens’s most popular shows!
Howl to Coexist– Stop by for an educational, one-of-a-kind presentation staged by the park’s zoological team. Howl to Coexist intends to inform guests of practical methods for coexisting with the animals around them.
Sunny Days Celebrations– Bring your family out for an unforgettable sing- and dance-along with your favorite Sesame Street friends! Your kids will have so much fun with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Grover, Cookie Monster and Zoe.
More Pet Shenanigans– Visit a live-action show featuring trained animals! More Pet Shenanigans is an exciting comedy show created by expert animal trainers. In rescuing and sheltering animals, several new stars were born—as was a wildly popular show!
