Explore Williamsburg this Spring

The transition from winter to spring marks such an exciting time of year—the gradual disappearance of chilly gray days, the sight of blossoming trees and flowers, thoughts of travel, and all of the meet-ups and special events that come with warm days are good for the soul. To make this season special, let’s explore Williamsburg this Spring!

It’s all the sights and sounds of spring in your hometown, only better. We’ve already done the planning for you (plus, we know a great place you can unwind at the end of the day)!

Get into nature.

Studies show that nature is an easy antidote to stress! Whether you want to wander through Colonial Williamsburg’s historic Arboretum and immaculate gardens, explore the area’s best biking and walking trails and parks, get close to amazing animals at Busch Gardens or CW, or rediscover your inner child as you go ziplining through a canopy of trees, Williamsburg’s got you covered.

Let loose.

Located right next to King’s Creek, Busch Gardens is the world’s most beautiful theme park. Experience six European-inspired “countries” with delicious cultural foods, artistic performances, world-renowned rides, custom landscapes and unique gift shops.

For the adrenaline chasers, the Pantheon coaster is making its debut in March! Kids have their pick of attractions too, like bumper cars, the Kinder Karussel, the Land of Dragons, and the Sesame Street Forest of Fun with all their favorite friends.

Connect to the past.

Colonial Williamsburg is a national treasure—not just because of museums and programming that brings the past to life, but because here you can bear witness to human stories that still hold tremendous power and relevance. In March, Women’s History Month brings the stories of the amazing women of America’s past to the forefront. These programs deepen our understanding and appreciation of female friendship, loyalty and resilience.

Shop and dine like a pro.

After you’ve catered to your inner child and history lover, it’s time to unwind. In Williamsburg, you really can’t strike out when it comes to finding retail therapy or a delicious meal! Merchants Square offers an incredible array of shopping and dining experiences, all within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. If you’re looking for big brand names, we’ve got that, too—just head down route 60 to the Williamsburg Premium Outlets, where you’ll find deals and steals at over 120 shopping destinations. As far as food goes, we’ve already rounded up the best places to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert.
